§ 12c · The Two Halves · LifeLog · FR
Apple holds the device. Google holds the world.
Both have intelligence money in their history: In-Q-Tel and Keyhole for Google, a secret NeXT workstation contract for Apple. Both were compelled under Section 702, and both were gagged over push-notification data.
Nobody had to hand out the roles. The law reaches each company, and the market keeps joining them: about $20 billion a year for the Safari search box, and since January 2026, Gemini under Siri.
LifeLog wanted one record of a life. It was built anyway, in two halves.
